GRATIN MUSSELS  
This tasty recipe is great for finger food and quick to cook.  Why not try our range of half shell mussels with breadcrumb toppings for a quick solution.  We do all the hard preparation work so you can just cook and serve.  

Ingredients:

  • 1lb mussels
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 150g softened butter
  • 120g white breadcrumbs
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Chopped fresh parsley for seasoning

Method:

Steam 1lb of mussels in a pot for 3 to 4 minutes until the shells open Remove the topshell from each cooked mussel and arrange the bottom shell containing the mussel meat on an oven proof dish or baking tray. Add the crushed garlic, parsley and lemon juice into the softened butter. Using a spoon, place a small to place a small amount of the seasoned butter (2 to 3 g) onto each mussel, just covering the meat. Sprinkle with breadcrumb. Grill in a preheated grill until golden brown and crispy. Serve garnished with lemon or lime wedges.

If you are feeling adventurous, why not spice up the recipe by adding some chopped chilli to the butter
