Quality
In the purity of the Bay’s waters, our rope mussel farms are nurtured under stringent quality control procedures.
Mussels are graded to ensure that only mussels of high quality and similar size are available for processing. With a capacity to harvest and process 50 ton of mussels daily, our unique processing facilities guarantee that, from harvest to packaging, mussels and meat content is of a high standard. Once harvested from the farms, they are immediately delivered to the processing plant where they are washed and cleaned.
Our staff carry out visual, physical and organoleptic inspections to ensure only mussels of good quality are available for cooking. Quality control is fundamental to our success, with inhouse microbiological and chemical laboratories and cooperative links with Irish universities, national reference laboratories and research agencies worldwide. Premium quality products are to the forefront of our corporate objectives and we hold Grade A in BRC version 5 Certification and Higher Level in IFS issue 5 Certification.
