Bantry Bay Seafoods was established in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland in 1991. Our award winning company has patented an innovative technique for processing shellfish.
Freshly harvested, top-quality, mussels are purified, vacuum packed and frozen with all the natural juices retained inside the shell. This process enables our mussels to be available 12 months of the year.
Quality is our priority and Bantry Bay Seafoods is well equipped with extensive process control systems (HACCP), experienced laboratory specialists and food science technicians. These dedicated personnel perform strict product monitoring, sampling, and full traceability of product back to site, to ensure that all products are in accordance with customer’s specifications.
The company produces over 6500 tonnes of mussels annually. Bantry Bay Seafoods has built up a reputation over the past number of years as a supplier of top quality products to European markets. We supply all the major multiples in France, UK, Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Sweden and USA.
A new state of the art, purpose built, water front manufacturing facility opened in May 1999 at a cost of £8 million. This 4500 m2 factory enabled the company to double its production capacity to 50 tonnes per day and increase its workforce from 60 to 120.
Bantry Bay Seafoods employs over 120 people who share their expertise in product research and development, product innovation, marketing, planning and production to bring you the best product in the market.
